The small Catalan town of La Bisbal de l’Empordà, about 20 km from my studio, was hit by a brief but massive storm on Tuesday (30 August 2022). The storm came at about 7:30 pm and after 15 minutes it was all over. The consequences of this quarter of an hour, however, were devastating: about 50 people were injured and a little girl was killed by a huge hailstone. It was an unbelievable tragedy for the family. As an artist, I was captivated by the dynamics of the storm. The powerful colours seem almost deceptive.
